Broker Development Lead

As part of our continuing expansion, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team in the newly created role of Broker Development Lead.

The opportunity:
Reporting to the Head of Client Services you will be responsible for providing a range of activities in the business development arena, with a specific focus on retaining, developing, and winning new broker and nominated account relationships.

The role:
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the Head of Client Services to draft and implement a strategic plan to develop/maximise opportunities in the UK & Ireland broker market, including the securing / retention of nominated accounts
    • Identifying/quantifying targets – feeding into budget forecasting
    • Supporting business development opportunities
    • Supporting account management functions
  • Working closely with the Head of Client Services to draft and implement a strategic plan to develop/maximise sector specific opportunities
    • Identifying/quantifying targets – feeding into budget forecasting
    • Supporting business development opportunities
    • Supporting account management functions
    • The creation of a blueprint to be adopted for all sectors
  • Working closely with the Head of Client Services to assist the setting and tracking of revenue targets and pipeline activity – maintaining focus and momentum on
    • Tracking Plan against key dates
    • Liaising with owners of actions
    • Helping to identify the need for promotional material
    • Sharing developments/updates across the business
  • Working as part of a team to assist the production of Tender/Presentation material
    • Helping to identify/formulate USPs and key propositions
    • Assisting the collation of content for Tender responses
    • Assisting the compilation of content for due diligence responses
  • Working closely with the McLarens Practices, both nationally and within Regions, to coordinate and participate in a range of account management responsibilities, including:
    • Developing relationships within Brokers and Nominated Accounts
    • Attending periodical review meetings
    • Drawing up strategic plans and supporting others to do likewise
    • Overseeing the drafting of Nominated account handling instructions
  • Undertaking projects and other ad hoc work as required.

About you – Knowledge and Experience:

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • A proven track record of building strong working relationships, externally and internally
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to balance multiple deadlines
  • Personal pride in delivering outputs on time, with a focus on quality and communication
  • A willingness to travel throughout the UK, Ireland and globally where required
  • Be driven to meet and exceed targets
  • Prior experience within the insurance market and/or business development within a professional services environment will be highly advantageous.
