Business Development Executive – Heathrow, UK

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join our RAMS department in London Heathrow

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, Risk and Asset Management, the Business Development Executive, will under the general direction of the Commercial Manager, be responsible for achieving set sales goals within their specified region through consultative selling, whilst building and maintaining positive business relationships with customers, to help generate the necessary sales pipeline to meet individual and departmental targets.

The role:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the execution and continual development of RAMS sales and marketing strategy
  • Planning and prioritising personal sales activities and customer/prospect contacts towards achieving agreed business aims
  • Owning and continually developing an agreed, targeted, segmented and specific sales plan, that supports RAMS strategy and profitability targets
  • Liaising and supporting McLarens global office network, exploring and exploiting RAMS opportunities internationally
  • Working with the Operations team to refine the process from sales to delivery, mitigating errors and improving departmental efficiencies
  • Traveling extensively nationally and internationally to meet new and existing clients, generate development opportunities and markets and initiate business action plans
  • Ensuring SalesForce CRM system is regularly updated to ensure information remains accurate and relevant
  • Keeping abreast of latest industry news and competitor analysis, to forward plan opportunities at least 6 months in advance
  • Utilising our subscribed data bases and professional memberships to research information and seek business opportunities

About you – Knowledge and Experience:

The successful candidate will ideally have an understanding of aviation maintenance, leasing, continuing airworthiness, aircraft sales, broking or other related areas with significant and proven customer account or sales management experience. Experience preparing responses to technical RFPs and exposure to financial management budgets would be advantageous. The Candidate will also possess excellent communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships and will have proficient IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. They will be highly motivated, have an entrepreneurial mindset with a flexible attitude towards work, whilst being highly organised and able to prioritise their own work load. It would be desirable for the candidate to have professional Sales & Marketing or technical accreditations and higher-level qualifications such as higher Diploma’s, Graduate level, BEng, BSc, MSc or equivalent in an aviation related subject.
