On April 1, 2018, Gary Rimler joined McLarens as Director of McLarens Risk Services (MRS). He oversees the units risk management consulting and insurance program development and administration.
He brings to MRS the technology gained from his work for the mega-brokers to help clients develop the best coverages and self-insurance programs. He is recognised for creative solutions in the Casualty and Property insurance world. He has designed many Workers’ Compensation, Commercial General and Product Liability, Excess Liability, Employment Practices Liability and Directors & Officers Liability programs. Gary has worked with a broad-based client portfolio including restaurants, sports and fitness companies, real estate management companies, health care providers, temporary staffing companies and PEOs.
Mr. Rimler graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a major in Insurance from The College of Insurance in New York, now St. John’s University School of Risk & Insurance. He earned a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. He designed a Risk Retention Group (RRG)/ Captive Insurance Company for a well-recognised gym/fitness concept. Today, the RRG insures about 2,800 locally-owned gyms. He is noted for his risk management consulting and development of alternative risk finance programs including large deductible programs and captive insurance companies. Some clients retained him as their outsourced risk manager.
Mr. Rimler has over 35 years’ experience as a trusted advisor and insurance broker having worked for multinational insurance brokers such as Johnson & Higgins, AON Risk Services, as well as Sedgwick, Jardines Insurance Brokers and Acordia/Wells Fargo.
Mr. Rimler has focused his career primarily with Fortune 1000 companies and middle market companies assisting them with their Property and Casualty Insurance and Risk Management requirements. Mr. Rimler also has extensive experience in the Medical Professional Liability sector working on behalf of world-renowned group medical practices, teaching hospitals, IPAs and PPOs.
In addition to risk management consulting and development of alternative risk finance programs, he has been a speaker for RIMS and other industry conferences on topics including Workers’ Compensation and alternative risk finance.
