Steven started his insurance career at RBS Insurance (now Direct Line Group) in 2007 where he worked on a variety of claims including technical and large loss, subsidence, whilst also assisting the fraud team. Steven was involved in an escape of water pilot scoping building repairs and negotiating settlements during his time at DLG.
In 2014 Steven moved to Sterling Insurance Group (now Covea Insurance), handling commercial claims for a variety of risks, whilst also liaising directly with brokers. As a rising star, Steven was involved in management tasks including assisting with audits and supplier management.
In 2016, Steven was given the opportunity to become a loss adjuster with Woodgate & Clark, handling a high volume of claims in and around London and the South East as well as other areas of the UK when required.
NOTABLE ASSIGNMENTS
- Undetected escape of water affecting 8 flats in Wandsworth involving strip out, drying and reinstatement with alternative accommodation and storage arrangements with multiple parties (£200 K)
- Storm damage to large seafront, six storey hotel damaging several rooms in different areas of the building involving the use of a drone survey to save on costly scaffolding (£60 K)
- Fire within a mid-terrace, five bedroom Croydon home from a faulty tumble dryer requiring extensive reinstatement, alternative accommodation, forensics and solicitors (£80 K)
- Fatal fire causing damage to three flats requiring a sensitive approach throughout (£70 K)
- Impact to a restaurant involving sensible and speedy approach to minimise the business interruption loss (£30 K)
- Theft of photographic equipment and trade contents from a London studio (£75 K)
