Susan Froman is an insurance professional with over 25 years of business development and management experience within the commercial property and casualty insurance industry, focused on developing strong relationships within the Excess & Surplus lines sector. Susan joined McLarens in 2014 to establish, recruit, and expand the business development capabilities in North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
A member of McLarens’ United States senior management team, Susan not only oversees the domestic business development team, but she is also a key leader in several change management initiatives with the Senior U.S. operations team. With the goal to drive CEO Gary Brown’s vision to bring employees together internally and lead the charge to increase transparency between McLarens and the market externally, Susan draws on her proven track record of results and contagious energy to advance these efforts. Change management initiatives such as technology adoption, internal training and education, and recruiting have been at the forefront for Susan.
As someone with a big heart for philanthropy, Susan enjoys raising awareness for both cancer and the homeless. This civic commitment even extends to her work at McLarens, where she established McLarens Cares in the United States – a corporate program that funds charitable works in the community that has since evolved into a global social responsibility program called McLarens commUNITY. In addition, Susan spoke on McLarens’ first International Women’s Day internal panel in 2021, and as a result is a founding member of the McLarens Diversity & Inclusion committee, and a mentor to McLarens’ first Women’s Employee Resource Group in North America.
Externally, Susan is an active member and supporter of key insurance industry associations such as the International Insurance Charitable Foundation (IICF), the Dive In Festival, the Association of Professional Insurance Women (APIW), the Risk Insurance Management Society (RIMS), the Property Loss Research Bureau (PLRB), and the Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association (WSIA).
