John began his career in the insurance industry in 1998, working as a Catastrophe Claims Adjuster for Crawford & Company, where he gained invaluable experience that set him up for continued. After two years, John worked for MetLife for five years as a Field Claims Adjuster, where he further expanded his claims handling background, trained new employees, and received accolades from peers and managers for his work product and quality customer service.
John then transitioned to being a Technical Specialist for Travelers, adjusting large (complex) commercial line claims, including Builder’s Risk and large loss homeowner’s claims. These would often involve the hiring and managing of experts from numerous disciplines, verifying contractor estimates, invoices, change orders, etc., for accuracy & proper pricing, and negotiating with contractors/vendors. John stayed in this role for another five years before transitioning to becoming a Regional General Adjuster with the Hanover Insurance Group. As an RGA, John focused on inland marine and commercial claim lines.
In 2013 John went to work for AIG as a National General Adjuster, handling commercial and inland marine claims throughout the US, from start to finish. These claims were some of the most complex in coverage determination and adjustment, which represented some the region’s largest commercial exposures. In addition to these, John handled claims for commercial property, Builders Risk, manufacturing, energy, aviation, and occasionally mining.
After a short stay with Engle Martin, John joined McLarens in 2019, where he continues to shine as an Executive General Adjuster, handling claims across many areas of focus. He is regularly a sought-after resource from fellow adjusters on complex subject matters, and is requested by clients for his dedication and customer service.
