McLarens is delighted to announce the appointment of Esteban Fernandez Balbis, Casualty Manager, and Enrique Villalobos Torres, Senior Casualty Adjuster, to their Chile operation.
Esteban Fernandez Balbis, with over 17 years insurance experience, joins McLarens from the London branch of Assicurazioni Generali, where as a Senior Claims Adjuster he was responsible for handling various classes of losses, including property, casualty, engineering, and marine.
With a law degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Esteban was previously head of insurance at Servicios Portuarios S.A. in Buenos Aires, before moving to London in 2005. During his career, he has been responsible for the adjustment of losses under both primary policies and reinsurance contracts, overseeing all aspects of the adjustment process including subrogation.
Enrique Villalobos Torres has worked as a Senior Claims Adjuster in Chile since 2009, where he has been responsible for adjusting a wide variety of casualty claims and has overseen the adjustment of losses covering all types of liability insurance in the Chilean market. This experience includes the adjustment of losses in port terminals with foreign shareholdings, and reviewing policy liability for both the domestic and international insurance markets
Enrique is a qualified lawyer, with post-graduate studies in Port Administration and has a Masters in Maritime Law. He is bilingual in Spanish and English, and has considerable experience in both litigation and insurance.
Both of these appointments further strengthen the expertise of our team in Chile in all areas of casualty insurance, particularly with port and marine risks, and show our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers. Their experience of handling both large and complex claims and their extensive knowledge of the reinsurance market will make them both a valuable addition to the Group.
