McLarens- founding supporter of Asia Power Forum

There are several power conferences for the insurance industry that take place around the world, however, until now there has not been an energy conference targeting the insurance industry in the Far East. Considering Asia is one of the fastest growing power markets in the world several individuals involved in insurance/reinsurance in Asia collaborated in early 2016 to establish a Society. The concept of the Asia Power Forum was born, with a desire to create an organisation providing competitively priced educational seminars for this sector of the industry, and also for power station operators.

Thankfully, these individuals’ employers supported the group with a ‘founding supporters donation’. Without such donations being made, the society and the events planned would not have been able to get off the ground. McLarens, on behalf of one of these individuals, Tony Chapman, is pleased to be a founding supporter to assist with turning the concept into reality.

The Asia Power Forum was set up as a Society in late 2016 to provide seminars for the insurance sector at a very competitive price. The Committee has worked tirelessly to bring together the inaugural event that will take place on Thursday 20th April 2017 at the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore. As a first year event, the number of attendees was difficult to predict. As the event approaches, there are over 250 delegates registered to attend from Insurers, Reinsurers, Brokers, Loss Adjusters, Forensic Accountants, Lawyers and the power industry. Geographically, there are attendees from across Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Europe attending. The attendance figure far exceeds the expectations of the Committee and just demonstrates how keen the market is to receive this kind of educational event in Asia.
