Nigel O’Keef is an Executive Loss Adjuster with over 30 years’ experience in the insurance and construction industries across the UK and Australia. He is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Chartered Loss Adjuster, bringing deep technical expertise in building pathology, construction, and complex property losses.
Nigel commenced his career specialising in building defects and subsidence claims in the UK before joining McLarens Toplis (later Capita McLarens), where he developed extensive experience in commercial property claims across a wide range of sectors including education, manufacturing, retail, and public infrastructure. From 2000 onwards, he focused on major and complex losses, handling significant fire and structural damage claims, including large-scale losses affecting schools and industrial facilities.
He subsequently held senior roles with Cunningham Lindsey and Questgates in London and the South East of England, managing complex commercial claims, including losses arising from major catastrophe and terrorism events.
Since relocating to Australia in 2012, Nigel has specialised in catastrophe, construction, and major property losses across a broad geographic footprint including Queensland, Northern Territory, New South Wales, Western Australia, Victoria, and the Pacific. His experience includes high-profile and technically complex claims involving government assets, hotels and resorts, theme parks, hospitals, industrial facilities, and large commercial organisations.
Nigel is highly regarded for his technical insight, practical approach to complex building-related losses, and ability to manage high-value claims from initial assessment through to resolution. His work is underpinned by strong stakeholder management, clear reporting, and a focus on delivering timely, well-reasoned outcomes.
