Claire began her insurance career at a small specialist adjusting firm in Manchester, UK in 2011. Within her first year, she took on the role of Salvage Co-ordinator, managing the sale of damaged or stolen/recovered machinery through a dedicated auction website, and leading the legal and logistical processes involved in repatriating stolen machinery from overseas. Claire began her adjuster training a year later and spent three years dealing with plant and machinery claims before moving onto contract works losses.
Claire relocated to London in 2015 to gain mentorship from some of the UK’s leading construction adjusters and become more heavily involved in high value and complex construction losses. A move to Brisbane followed in 2018, allowing Claire to widen her experience with complex claims involving defects, weather risks and mining plant and machinery. She was promoted to National Manager – CONENG Express Claims the following year.
Claire joined McLarens in 2021 as a Specialist Adjuster in the Construction and Engineering, Natural Resources team and was promoted to Senior Specialist Adjuster in late 2022 upon completion of her ANZIIF studies. She received the Syd McDonald Young Adjuster Prize and the Diploma of Loss Adjusting Prize for obtaining the highest mark in the ANZIIF Diploma of Loss Adjusting exams in 2022.
During her time at McLarens, Claire has built a portfolio of contract works claims and heavy plant and machinery claims in the construction and mining sectors. She also has experience in construction liability and ISR losses involving complex construction or contractual matters.
