Mahendran A/L Armathlingam obtained a Second Class Upper Diploma on Automobile Engineering in December 1992 and the Basic Loss Adjusting Certificate in 1999.
Mahendran has about 15 years experience as a loss adjuster handling marine losses.
Since his appointment as trainee loss adjuster with McLaren Saksama (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, in April 1996, he has been promoted initially to Senior Loss Adjuster and now an Assistant Manager. His studies in Automobile Engineering at Federal Institute of Technology included 6 months practical training in repairing and overhauling tractors & generators at Tractors Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
Upon completion of his studies Mahendarn joined a local renovation company where he was employed for 3 ½ years. He was responsible for costing estimations of renovation works associated with office premises including Mechanical and Electrical works. Most of renovation costings were done for Government tenders. His works consisted of administration, supervision, corresponding and handing over the completed project to the client. Previous supervision in office renovation projects include: –

He has been handling surveys on machinery; pre-shipment survey on machinery, steel products and dry general cargo; inland transit survey. He had conducted surveys on cargo at the port of discharge, port of loading and after loading/unloading at final destination.
He has also conducted investigation and obtaining of all necessary data in connection with the process and settlement of marine claims for Insurers.
