Michele began her insurance career in 1990 as a property adjuster with State Farm Insurance, handling both property and casualty claims before advancing to a management role with
the National Catastrophe Team, where she spent five years overseeing complex catastrophe losses.
Since becoming an independent adjuster in 2001, Michele has developed extensive experience managing complex commercial property claims across a diverse portfolio of risks, including
hospitality and hotels, habitational real estate, retail centers, healthcare facilities, and national multi-location accounts. Her hospitality experience includes the adjustment of significant
hotel property losses, including a $10 million winter storm claim, giving her a strong understanding of the unique considerations associated with hotel and hospitality operations.
Michele’s broader experience with large commercial properties and portfolio accounts is particularly well suited to the hospitality sector, where losses can involve complex building
systems, extensive contents and finishes, multiple stakeholders, and the need to balance a thorough adjustment with the operational priorities of the insured. Her background managing
catastrophe claims further positions her to respond effectively to large, time-sensitive losses affecting hotel and hospitality properties.
Since joining McLarens in 2015 as an Executive General Adjuster, Michele has continued to handle significant and complex assignments, including five notable hospitality portfolios, two hospital portfolios, a global logistics company, and major property losses ranging from fire and hurricane to theft, tornado, flood, and builder’s risk. Michele holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and is an active member of Claims Litigation Management. She is also a past president of the National Association of Insurance Women NYC branch.
