Biography

With over 33 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mike Vadney joined McLarens in 2017, bringing with him experience as an adjuster with expertise in Builder’s Risk, Construction & Engineering, Marine, and Property claims. In his career Mike has worked for some of the largest insurance carriers, brokers, and third party administrators in the country, including Travelers, Allianz, and Brocklehursts to name a few. Mike was able to showcase his skills in the large loss area when working for Traveler’s, traveling all across the country in the process. With his experience in business interruption, he taught a contingent business interruption course at one of the PLRB Large Loss “Big Dogs” Conferences. He has also instructed lease and leasehold training classes for a major insurer, as well as speaking and presenting at RIMS conferences.

Mike’s background in finance and accounting, which he studied while at Cal State – Chico, has been a key asset to him while advancing in the insurance adjusting world. His value on education has continued throughout his career, by attending the renowned Vale Technical Building Estimating, and becoming California Earthquake Certified.

Mike was promoted to Senior Executive General Adjuster in 2019, and is a member of the SEGA team with McLarens.

  • Course of Constructions: Various projects including sports venues, apartments, offices, storage, and others, throughout the United States ranging in value from $1 million to $5.5 billion. Claims include hard and soft costs, along with time element ranging in the multi-millions.

  • Transportation, including Metro Rail, with project values in excess of $1 billion for various occurrences including collapse, theft, rain, and water.

  • School districts, counties and cities: Various Course of Construction and All-Risks claims; including wildfires, water damages, and thefts (USD 12 Million)

  • Religious organizations: 1994 Earthquake (USD 40 Million)

  • Hospitality: Various catastrophes including water, hail, and fire (USD 40 Million)

  • Manufacturing, including electronics, food, building materials, auto parts: Various for fire, water, Boiler and Machinery (USD 10 Million)

  • Food distribution, cold storage: Various for fire, water, theft and catastrophes (USD 5 Million)

  • Employee Dishonesty, Contingent Business Interruption (World Trade Center), Civil Authority, Utilities Interruption, Stock Output and other coverages (USD 1 Million)
