Biography

Torben Bell joined McLarens in 2025 as Managing Director to lead the company’s business and operations in Australia.

Torben is a senior practitioner with more than 25 years of experience. Starting his career in South Africa, he developed expertise in complex investigations and major loss. In 2017, he relocated to Australia, and since 2021, he has been leading Integra as Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand.

Originally an English and History Secondary School teacher by trade, Torben commenced his Loss Adjusting career in South Africa over 25 years ago.

In the early years Torben was fortunate to be exposed to claims across the entire spectrum, enabling him to develop a solid set of the fundamental skills required to progress to more complex and higher value claim investigations.

Over the past 25 years, Torben has investigated and managed a wide range of claim assessments ranging from large/complex property fire losses to public disorder/malicious damage/criminal incidents during periods of political unrest in South Africa and a significant marine impact damage claim involving a Vessel colliding with a harbour wall/associated equipment.

This experience gained across two continents (South Africa 2000 to 2017 and Australia 2017 to present) has provided Torben with a significant perspective on major/complex losses, and the diverse skills required to manage such losses.

Torben promotes an open, honest and transparent approach to claim investigations acknowledging the important of all the stakeholders on a claim and the critical significance of regular communication/interaction between all parties.
