Nguyen Hong Viet is a Certified CILA loss adjuster with over 23 years of experience in marine and property claims across Vietnam and the wider region. He has handled a wide range of complex marine losses and large non-marine losses and bringing extensive expertise in marine cargo claims, inspection services, and energy-related risks.
Viet began his career in surveying and inspection, developing strong technical capability across cargo inspections, loss and damage investigations, oil and gas surveys, bunkering, and outturn loss control. He later joined Vietnam Energy Inspection Corporation (EIC), where he specialised in petroleum product inspections, including quantity and quality assessments both onboard vessels and at onshore facilities. This experience provided him with a strong foundation in energy sector risks and loss evaluation.
Since joining McLarens in 2010, Viet has handled a broad portfolio of claims including marine, Property All Risks (PAR), Erection All Risks (EAR), and machinery breakdown. He has also undertaken international assignments across Laos and Thailand, including managing a high volume of claims arising from the Thailand earthquake in 2025.
Viet is recognised for his strong technical expertise, practical field experience, and ability to deliver reliable and well-supported outcomes across a wide range of complex claims.
