Worked as project supervisor, project management team, contract administrator and QAQC assessor in multiple projects undertaken by Hazama Gumi, Kumagai Gumi, Taisei Corporation, Mitsui & Company (MCC) and Mitsui Construction Company (MBK) over a span of 20 years. Head hunted by Thomas Howell as Senior Engineer after completing contract administration duties for Hazama Gumi at Petronas Twin Towers in Year 1997.
1997 joined Thomas Howell (“TH”) as Senior Engineer – Took over, managed and closed-out about 400 Contractor’s/Erection All Risks material damage (MD) claim involving KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) Project.
1998 – 1999 – as Senior Engineer in managing and handled all claims involved in the dam construction and water treatment facilities of SPLASH. Handled and closed out 3 slope failure cases in the North-South Expressway. Assisting TH’s technical advisor in handling/managing MD & Third Party(ies) claims as nominated adjusters relating to the light railway transit projects (STAR & PUTRA) tunnels and elevated viaduct damage, rockfalls in PLUS Expressway, slope failures at the Simpang Pulai to Cameron Highland highway. collapse of cofferdam in Bakun. Managed and handled all EAR claims at PSRII refinery project involving Chiyoda as EPCC contractor.
2000 – 2005 (TH divested their business to Crawford) – as Asst Manager managed and handled all EAR claims involving Petronas Fertilizer Kedah (PFK) and closed out all claims at MHI HQ, Yokohama, Japan. Handled all EAR claims involving Tuanku Jaafar Power Station and closed out all claims in MELCO and MHI in Japan. Handled and closed out marine cable damage involving SIEMENS in Indonesia. Handled and closed out all Aromatics plant EAR claims involving Toyo Engineering.
2005 – 2010 – As Senior Engineer on yearly post-retirement contract – Handled, controlled, managed and closed out: all EAR claims involving Rawang to Ipoh Double Track Project; all CAR/EAR claims involving KLIA Main Terminal, Satellite and Contact Piers and various equipment claims involving National Electric Board, Telekom Malaysia and Petronas.
2010 – 2022 – As Technical Adviser – Handling and providing assistance in closing out all mega losses ranging from RM5 million.
