Nathan is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over ten years experience in the construction and civil engineering industries, with a particular focus on temporary works and construction method engineering. His early career was spent delivering complex engineering solutions on major infrastructure projects for Principal Contractors, before moving into a design consultancy role to deepen his structural expertise.
Now working as a Senior Engineer and Loss Adjuster for McLarens, Nathan brings a strong technical foundation to insurance claims, helping insurers get to the heart of causation issues early. He applies practical engineering insight to assess how and why damage has occurred, supporting faster, better-informed decisions and, where possible, reducing claim lifecycle costs. When external experts are needed, he produces clear and targeted instructions to guide their involvement efficiently and effectively.
Nathan holds the Advanced Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (AdvDip-CILA) and is working towards full Chartered Loss Adjuster status. He has experience in Construction All Risks (CAR), non-negligent liability claims under JCT clause 6.5.1, contractor’s liability exposures, plant and machinery losses, and structural and defect liability warranty claims. Known for his clear, analytical reporting style, he combines deep engineering knowledge with a practical understanding of construction management practice, industry regulation, and insurance principles.
