MCLARENS APPOINTS KEVIN MORAN TO EXPAND CRISIS MANAGEMENT OFFERING AMID RISING DEMAND FOR MALICIOUS ASSAILANT COVER

ATLANTA, USA – FEBRUARY 2026: McLarens, the global insurance services provider, has appointed Kevin Moran as Executive General Adjuster and US Team Lead for Malicious Assailant, War, Terrorism & Political Violence (WTPV) within its global Crisis Management practice. Kevin’s appointment reflects McLarens’ continued investment in specialist services that address today’s rapidly evolving security and violence-related risks.

Based in Chicago, Kevin brings over 15 years’ experience in crisis and security risk management, including senior leadership roles in response operations for major incidents globally. His appointment coincides with a sharp rise in demand for Malicious Assailant insurance cover in the US and beyond, as buyers seek broader coverage for a wider spectrum of threats – from workplace violence to politically motivated events and mass-casualty attacks.

John Turner, Global Director of Crisis Management at McLarens, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Kevin to the team. His blend of security response expertise and insurance acumen makes him uniquely placed to lead our Malicious Assailant and WTPV services in the US. Demand for this type of coverage is growing rapidly, especially in sectors like healthcare, education, and hospitality. Kevin’s leadership ensures McLarens is strongly positioned to support clients through these complex, sensitive, and increasingly frequent events.”

“From an underwriter’s perspective, while business interruption is often the initial loss driver, the far greater exposure can arise from liability. These losses can evolve over time and require detailed analysis, documentation, and an understanding of liability. With deep expertise across both property and casualty adjusting, McLarens is ideally placed to help insurers and brokers navigate this complexity and make informed, defensible decisions across the full lifecycle of a claim.”

Traditionally handled under Terrorism or Political Violence (TPV) policies, crisis events are increasingly covered under broader Malicious Assailant insurance, with cover extending beyond politically motivated acts to include workplace shootings, domestic disputes escalating on company property, and threats that affect business continuity and reputation. McLarens’ WTPV team provides rapid, sensitive, and fact-based investigation, translating incident findings into actionable insurance reporting, often across multiple overlapping policies.

Kevin joins McLarens from Crisis24, one of the largest global security response providers, where he managed high-stakes investigations involving active-assailant incidents, civil unrest, and large-scale evacuations. His work spans the Americas, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific, supporting carriers and corporate clients in handling complex liability and property losses. He has expertise in navigating the legal, reputational, and psychological impact of violent events.

Speaking on his appointment, Kevin Moran, Executive General Adjuster and US Team Lead for WTPV, said: “I’m proud to join McLarens at a time when the industry is rethinking how we respond to today’s security-driven risks. Malicious Assailant coverage is a fast-evolving area, and we can support our clients to understand their exposures, navigate their coverages, and manage these challenging events with confidence and care.”

The appointment is part of McLarens’ broader expansion in Crisis Management, with integrated services now covering policy response for malicious assailant, terrorism, political violence, and workplace threats, backed by a global team with deep local expertise and multi-policy coordination capabilities.
