MCLARENS APPOINTS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR IN AUSTRALIA

AUSTRALIA – JUNE 2025: Global claims services provider McLarens has appointed Torben Bell as Managing Director (MD) of its Australia operations. Torben assumes leadership responsibilities, previously held by Martyn Wicht, who was promoted to Managing Director for APAC in 2024.

Torben is a senior practitioner with more than 20 years of experience. Starting his career in South Africa, he developed expertise in complex investigations and major loss. In 2017, he relocated to Australia, and since 2021, he has been leading Integra as Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand.

Torben’s career has given him a unique perspective on the management of major and complex losses. He has investigated and managed numerous claims and developed expertise across construction & engineering, energy, manufacturing, marine & transport, mining, property and specialist liability risks.

Last year, McLarens Australia celebrated its 10th year in operation. Following its re-entry into the market in 2014, the business has grown from a team of one to over 130 staff across nine locations. The business has developed its complex and commercial claims offering, expanding its core property expertise into strata and high net-worth, construction & natural resources, casualty, marine and forensic accounting.

Recently, McLarens Australia further expanded its capabilities by acquiring Property & Forensic Assessing (PFA), a Melbourne-based boutique loss adjusting firm specialising in construction, commercial property, and financial loss claims. Terry Hogan, Founding Principal and Executive Loss Adjuster & Forensic Accountant, will report to Torben Bell.
