McLarens North America Introduces Natural Resources Division

Global loss adjuster, McLarens, is pleased to introduce the new Natural Resources division in North America. Led by Matthew LeBrun out of Houston, Texas, the team will focus on developing the offerings in the broader energy, oil & gas, mining, up, mid, downstream power generation and the petro industry. The Natural Resources team brings a diversified core of expertise, trusted to handle multi-million dollar risks throughout North America.

“We have always had strong players in the technical services field as part of the McLarens team. This concerted effort will heighten awareness and make considerable impact in the natural resources sector,” shared Gary Brown, Chief Executive Officer. “Having someone of Matthew’s calibre to lead our service offering from the United States shows the consistent focus on quality that McLarens’ clients expect.”

Matthew LeBrun, Natural Resources Director and Executive General Adjuster, added: “I am honoured to be a part of and lead this new division for McLarens North America. The organisation adopted my vision and due to our rapid growth and recruiting efforts, we quickly realised we have a special opportunity to introduce a diverse, collective group of talented energy professionals that the Market has been lacking.”

The most recent additions to the Natural Resources team include several powerhouse claims professionals that specialise in the Energy sector. Notably, with over 40 years’ experience, Stuart Stromeyer, Sr. Executive General Adjuster, joins McLarens in the Chicago Market. Stromeyer has a positive reputation handling high-profile claims for significant entities such as Airports, Refineries, Utility Plants and the Mining Industry.

Additionally, Charles Klehr (CPCU), based in McLarens’ New York office, joins from Aspen Insurance Company, where he was Senior Vice President Energy & Construction – Underwriting. Charles is an Executive General Adjuster with over 30 years’ experience handling energy, power generation, and construction losses. In addition, he held senior positions in the global Energy departments of Zurich Financial Group and Liberty International Underwriters.

Lawrence ‘Larry’ Nixon joins Matthew LeBrun in the Houston, Texas office as Executive General Adjuster. With over 30 years’ experience in management and consulting positions for energy, control of well, and drilling losses across the globe, Larry brings specialised industry training to the North American Natural Resources division.

Finally, Denis Smith represents the division in Canada out of Vancouver, British Columbia. He brings over 40 years’ experience serving in market leadership positions such as Global Head of Mining Practice Group. Denis has handled multi-million dollar losses globally in the energy, mining, and power generation segments.
