McLarens Strengthens Leadership Team with Six Promotions Across the UK and Ireland

McLarens, the global loss adjuster specialising in complex, commercial and niche markets, has unveiled six new senior management appointments, within its UK & Ireland business, to strengthen operations at a regional level whilst reinforcing its commitment to specialist loss adjusting. The structure reflects the evolution of the UK business – which has grown tenfold over the past decade – and lays the groundwork for continued expansion in line with McLarens’ strategy of offering practitioner-led, technical loss adjusting services via a comprehensive regional network of 21 offices across the UK and Ireland.

The six new roles will comprise a Head of Operations and Head of Major Loss within each of the business’ three key regions – North, South and All Ireland – building upon McLarens’ existing management structure and promoting a number of its foremost practitioners to senior leadership roles within the business:

  • Regional Managers, Toby Knight, Martin Allan and David O’Neill have been appointed Head of Operations for the South, North and Ireland regions respectively. They will report into Executive Director, David Gillan who takes the executive lead on Operations.
  • Regional Manager, Mike Rosthorn and Executive Adjusters, Darren Anderton and William Wilson have been appointed Head of Major Loss for the South, North and Ireland regions respectively, reporting into Executive Director, Nigel Clarke, who takes the executive lead on Technical & Major Loss.

The new structure has been developed to place major loss and technical adjusting at the core of regional operational management and delivery. These changes will also allow Executive Directors, David Walker, and Kieran Gallagher to focus on strategic growth, client services and business development.

The new appointees will operate in tandem with McLarens’ existing specialist practices – Private Clients, Real Estate, Casualty, Agriculture and Construction & Engineering – the new Heads of Operations will take the reporting lines of existing Regional Managers.  The move will also create new Regional Manager vacancies which will be filled in coming months.

Steven Wallace, Managing Director, UK & Ireland commented: “McLarens has grown considerably across the UK & Ireland in the past decade, both in terms of our geographical footprint and service offering.  In line with these developments, it’s become increasingly clear that we need to adapt our structure to shape the business for future growth. At the same time, complex, technical loss adjusting has always been our raison d’être and by having such strong practitioners at the heart of our regional operations, these changes are entirely consistent with our model and underline the importance and value we place on taking a practitioner-led approach.  We are proud to have a wealth of expertise within the business and I’m delighted that the opportunity has opened up for such a talented leadership team.”
