McLarens UK Launches Northern Casualty Unit

Specialist loss adjuster McLarens has launched a Northern Casualty unit to focus on developing its Casualty business in the North and Scotland. David Fillingham FCII, FCILA, UK Head of Casualty, relocates from Croydon to Leeds as part of the move. McLarens’ Casualty hub in Croydon will continue to operate under the stewardship of Senior Casualty Executive Adjusters, Jon Evans and Graham Staples, who will continue to report in to David. The move comes in response to growing client demand in tandem with the growth of McLarens’ Northern business.

David has worked as a loss adjuster for nearly 30 years, having previously headed regional liability teams for Toplis & Harding, GAB Robins and Axis International. At McLarens, he handles complex product liability and professional indemnity claims across a wide range of industry sectors. He also regularly receives instructions on a variety of high profile cases in the railway industry extending from participation in train or tram derailment investigations to the assessment of employee accidents in the industry and claims against train/tram operators pursued by the general public, passengers and other non-employee claimants.

David Gillan, Executive Director with responsibility for the North, commented: “The evolution of the UK business over recent years has seen the creation of our specialist practices and this development is very much part of the process of extending our casualty proposition geographically. Having someone of David’s gravitas to spearhead a strategic push in the North means that we are well placed to grow this part of the business in response to market demand and we anticipate further expansion of our Leeds team over the coming months.”
