Biography

Clare started her career at Higos Insurance Services in 1998, where she led a team focused on personal lines new business sales. Through progression, she transitioned into the commercial division, taking on the role of Commercial Account Executive, managing a large portfolio across manufacturing, food processing, and retail industries. She later managed teams within the commercial division, overseeing compliance, training, and development.

After fifteen years with Higos, Clare moved to BKG West Ltd, a firm specialising in large commercial risks. In response to local demand, she organically developed a substantial agricultural insurance portfolio and became recognised as one of the leading farm insurance providers in the area. She remained with BKG West Ltd for ten years.

Clare then joined Paveys (AJ Gallagher) to enhance and develop their farm insurance offering. During her time there, she designed and implemented a farm insurance scheme, agreeing terms with principal insurers covering rating, underwriting, and claims processing. She also established and opened the Somerset office.

Following many years in insurance broking, Clare transitioned to Sedgwick Loss Adjusters. After being selected for their protégé scheme, she handled agricultural and rural losses exceeding £100,000. During her time at Sedgwick, she also mentored graduate employees.

To further expand her expertise, Clare joined Questgates as a specialist environmental adjuster, managing a variety of commercial spills, farm pollution incidents, and domestic oil leaks. This role involved close collaboration with the Environment Agency and external consultants.

More recently, Clare has worked as a Major Loss Adjuster at Davies, handling a broad range of complex and high-value losses across commercial, domestic, real estate, and specialist schemes. She has also served as the principal contact for specialist MOD work.

NOTABLE ASSIGNMENTS:

  • Escape of water from mains – damaging 18 classrooms – £6,000,000
  • Storm damage to a tension sprung sports hall roof – £2,000,000
  • Wild fire damage to houses in the village – £450,000
  • Arson involving fatality and intensive fire damage – £850,000
  • Malicious Damage – Reserved at £2,000,000, policy avoided and claim declined due to hotel occupancy, criminal activities
