Initially working in broking as a construction claims technician, Darren commenced work as a Junior Adjuster, handling domestic losses in 1993.
Working for Pycraft & Arnold from 1994–1999, Darren furthered his experience with domestic and smaller commercial losses, subsequently taking on the role of Senior Adjuster and managing a team of claims technicians after the business merged with Miller Fisher Plc, also taking on a deputy management role within the branch up until 2002. Having taken a role as a director in a small adjusting business, Darren reverted to a commercial claims handling role as a Senior Adjuster for Crawford & Company, undertaking management duties within the Croydon branch until 2011. After managing an adjusting branch office until 2012, Darren left to undertake a pure claims role with Woodgate & Clark Limited, handling commercial complex and Major Losses.
Darren joined McLarens in June 2025 as part of the Major Loss team for London & South East.
NOTABLE ASSIGNMENTS:
- Fire loss within franchise vehicle service and repair operation. Claim of £2million declined due to Fraud.
- Fire within commercial industrial unit and offices resulting from illegal cultivation of Cannabis. Claim for £1million. Declined due to Fraud by the property owner.
- Fire to commercial premises utilised as a large convenience store. Loss estimated at £750,000. Declined due to arson by the policyholder.
- Escape of water to HNW residential flats involving 6 properties finished to extremely high standard and accommodation arrangements. overall claim circa £2million. Block management agreed nomination for future losses based on handling.
- Escape of water in HNW domestic property affecting the majority of the premises. Claim of circa £200k declined following the introduction of forensic investigator and background enquiries proving incident was due to actions of Insured’s representatives.
