A Building Surveyor with specialist background in Loss Adjusting with a focus and expertise in the field of subsidence insurance claims.
Following completion of a university degree in Building Surveying, he took on a role at a loss adjusting practice handling Project Managed Subsidence Claims in 2000. James gained experience of both domestic and commercial claims whilst performing various roles within the team including Repair Surveyor and Project Manager. Main duties included the diagnosis of building defects, investigation and mitigation on valid claims and the management of repairs works.
James has during his career diversified into many aspects of insurance claims including managing a small team of surveyors, overseeing and reviewing building guarantee claims, appraising fire, flood and storm claims and undertaking high net worth building reinstatement cost assessments.
James moved into the specialist subsidence team focusing on commercial and high net worth claims as well as mentoring new starters and providing continued assistance and guidance before moving on again into the Expert Services team dealing with complex and major loss claims through to conclusion.
Joining McLarens in 2026 as a Building Surveyor and Loss Adjuster to assist the subsidence team across the commercial and specialty market space.
