Marie started handling products liability claims for Asian insurers in 2002, while working with AON Risk Services Taiwan. Marie’s work with AON, and then later a Taiwanese MGA and a Taiwanese law firm provided a full industry experience: from factory floor to risk management design, from policy wording to consortium and re-insurance development, from product development, to warnings to marketing support to working with claimants, attorneys and claim and suit resolution.
As the insurance market was developing in China there were many opportunities available for PLI program development, insurance and legal education seminars and trainings, including a week-long mock trial, a live burn program as well as recall and auto parts programs trainings in China.
After over 13 years of working claims with AON, a local MGA, and a Taiwanese law firm Marie returned to the US with Cunningham Lindsey (now Sedgwick) as a part of the Cunningham Lindsey Protégé program, with a continued focus on Asia Market claims. Note from 1985 ~ 2002 Marie worked with local organizations and Corporations in Taiwan to develop, a local YMCA and National YMCA programs, Shopping Centres and a communications software help centre. These experiences provided unparalleled language and cultural learning opportunities.
In April 2020 Marie moved to McLarens and accepted a new position and title: National General Adjuster. She is looking forward to building on her 20 years of Asia market relationships and experience and provide McLarens claims services to Chinese and Taiwanese insurers.
Taiwanese, Chinese and Korean enterprises manufacture and assemble an incredible range of products, and these products are distributed all over the world. Marie has worked with: Vendor program claims for major US mass market retailers, manufacturers of fast moving consumer goods as well as commercial products. Marie has handled a wide range of claims: home electrics recalls, office equipment failures, CNC machine failures, capacitor foil failure (5 M), photo resist contamination claim (1 M), copper / pex pipe and fitting claims as well as claims for alleged battery defects and gas grill failures. Marie has managed products claims in Canada, France, UK, Ireland, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Brasil, Australia, South Africa and India.
