Biography

Philip started as a Claims Consultant for a large insurer in New Zealand upon graduating from university in 2012, advancing to a Senior Claims Consultant role for a number of insurers before transitioning to field adjusting with McLarens New Zealand in 2022.

Philip’s expertise largely lies in major residential property losses, with a focus on complex and challenging circumstances involving geotechnical and structural engineering inputs, policy disputes, litigation, ombudsman reviews, fraud and customer vulnerabilities. His expertise also extends to construction scoping, with claims up to NZD $1m.

Philip has gained significant experience in adjusting catastrophic losses as a result of natural disaster events in New Zealand, including the 2023 Auckland Anniversary Weekend Floods in addition to his prior extensive experience in making challenging claim decisions as a Senior Claims Consultant for a number of years.
