Biography

A Building Surveyor with specialist background in Loss Adjusting, with focus and expertise in the field of subsidence insurance claims. Robert started his career in private practice as a trainee Surveyor, undertaking all aspects of building surveying work, primarily for municipal clients.

Following completion of a university degree in Building Surveying, he took on a role at a loss adjusting practice (Ellis and Buckle) handling Project Managed Subsidence claims. Robert gained experience of both domestic and commercial property claims whilst performing various roles as a Technician, Repair Surveyor and Project Manager. Main duties included the diagnosis of building defects, investigation and mitigation on valid claims and the management of repair works.
He moved into a management position as a Regional Manager, with responsibility for a team of Chartered Surveyors and Engineers. This role allowed exposure to more complex cases, process improvement and involved mentoring and training of the team.

Robert joined McLarens in 2025 as a Building Surveyor and Loss Adjuster to assist the subsidence offering across the commercial and specialty market space.
