Biography

A Building Surveyor with specialist background in Loss Adjusting, with focus and expertise in the field of subsidence insurance claims. Starting out as a trainee Surveyor in 2006 undertaking monitoring and repair duties, which swiftly led to a Project Management role including the full assessment and diagnosis of structural damage claims from inception to completion in a domestic setting.

Subsidence expertise has been developed through building pathology and defect diagnosis, diagnosing, investigating, mitigating and repairing subsidence claims (and some other perils) from outset to conclusion, in both domestic and commercial settings. Since 2012 Thomas worked for a specialist team focusing on commercial and HNW cases for many leading insurers and commercial clients with a period undertaking the role of Regional Manager for a team of 10 Subsidence Surveyors and Engineers throughout the London and the Southwest of England.

Throughout his career Surveying assistance has been provided to other Surveying and Adjusting teams during times of surge, working on special projects such as project and process development.

Joining McLarens in 2025 as a Building Surveyor and Loss Adjuster to assist the subsidence offering across the commercial and specialty market space.
