When two 400 ton crawler cranes performed a tandem lift to position an Offshore Supply Vessel during construction, they pulled each other over, resulting in a collapse of a 31,000 square feet machine shop building.
The USD 22 million claim covered physical damage to schedule / unscheduled equipment, building, personal property, stock, time element, builder’s risk, pollution, containment, and salvage disposition to name a few.
The outcome resulted in a litigation-free settlement, reduced by over USD 4.5 million against original loss estimate.
