Biography

Frank graduated in Chemistry from the University of Durham, where he remained to complete an M.Sc. by research, authoring a thesis and several research papers on organofluorine chemistry. After a brief period as a trainee average adjuster working in Newcastle, Glasgow, and London, he turned his attention to loss adjusting, spending the next 12 years in the London area.

He then became the first European internal adjuster for Chubb Insurance, where he established their department, before moving to Munich Re, handling property, energy, and media and entertainment claims. Over the following seven years, he served as Claims Manager at Travelers Insurance, leading a department of seven people, before being approached by Swiss Re to join as a Senior Claims Expert. His career came full circle with a return to adjusting at Sedgwick and later McLarens, where he served as a Director in the prestigious Entertainment and Contingency team.

NOTABLE ASSIGNMENTS:

  • Fronting insurer at Travelers for network reinsurance partnered with ERGO, Dusseldorf in the adjustment of a £68M bacon processing plant fire in Cambridgshire which attracted many favorable remarks.
  • Various media and contingency claims for notable celebrities achieving favorable outcomes for the London market.
  • Oversaw a large motorway construction project in Turkey including the collapse of a major suspension bridge which triggered an advance loss of profits claim and attracted much political attention. Settlement achieved at USD28.5M.
  • London market co-lead for Britney Spears world tour cancellation in 2003 following a knee injury.
