Authorities and aid agencies continue to struggle to manage the aftermath of Category 5 Typhoon Haiyan (named “Yolanda” in the Philippines), which passed over the Visayas Region of the Philippines last week.

McLarens’ initial response team is now receiving instructions from the Philippines and international markets and have mobilized themselves in Cebu ready for immediate deployment as soon as access is gained and/or authorities allow

Haiyan, the Philippines’ 25th typhoon this year, is predicted to be the most powerful storm ever to hit land. McLarens has activated a CAT Team of engineers and surveyors for the region and is committed to providing an immediate response to all instructions arising from this event.

The worst storm of the year has impacted on the UK, with winds gusting over 80mph, and hurricane force gusts recorded on the Isle of Wight at 0600 GMT Monday 28th October. In anticipation of an increase in instructions, McLarens has relocated an additional team of Adjusters from unaffected regions to assist in the impacted areas.
