McLarens Strengthens Ireland Operation with Senior Appointments

Team expansion supports strategy to grow Property, Construction & Engineering and Private Clients & Estates practices, in addition to further cementing Financial Lines offering

DUBLIN – OCTOBER 2022McLarens, the global professional insurance services provider, has expanded its Republic of Ireland team with five senior appointments. The roles will support McLarens Ireland’s strategy to strengthen its specialist Property, Construction & Engineering and Private Clients & Estates practices, in addition to further cementing its Financial Lines offering. 

Feargal Bracken has joined as Head of Property. Feargal specialises in business interruption, commercial and domestic property claims. In his previous role with a major international adjusting firm, he led property loss adjusting in Ireland and internationally as part of catastrophe response. Based in Dublin he will oversee the further development of McLarens Ireland’s commercial property practice with a focus on major and complex losses. 

Cathal Brennan has been appointed Construction & Engineering Lead. Cathal is a dual qualified quantity surveyor and loss adjuster who specialises in large and complex construction and engineering claims. Having previously held the role of Senior Construction & Engineering Adjuster in McLarens’ Sydney, Australia office, Cathal has returned to Ireland, where he will take the lead on developing McLarens Ireland’s offering across construction, power, and energy losses. This will include working closely with McLarens-company Lloyd Warwick International (LWI) on the provision of loss adjusting services to Ireland’s rapidly growing wind and renewable energy industry.

Heather McIlveen has been promoted to Head of Financial Lines. With over two decades of working in casualty and financial lines claims, Heather, who has a legal background, is an expert in the investigation and handling of a wide variety of liability losses including personal injury, construction bond, professional indemnity and third party property damage. Based in Galway she will further cement McLarens’ market leading financial lines proposition, which offers an adjuster-led approach to liability losses across Ireland.

Tony Halpin has been promoted to Private Clients & Estates Lead. With over 30 years’ experience, Tony is a well-known adjuster in the Irish market. Operating from McLarens’ Dublin office, he offers expertise across the claim spectrum, with a focus on private client and heritage, construction, and major loss.

Kathy Spillane has joined as Head of Operations. She joins from a major international loss adjuster having worked in the insurance industry for over 15 years. During that time, she has gained a multitude of experience spanning across business development, project management, operations and client service, people and claims management. 

McLarens Ireland now comprises a team of 28 working across offices in Cork, Dublin and Galway.
